Bringing an English Summer InsideHaving demonstrated the benefits of shooting with Livescene, our macro virtual production system, shooting toy product promos. We were inspired by one of our agency clients to use the system with a local beverage - Thatcher's Cider
In this example, there were huge cost and time savings assourcing a location of an English apple orchard in the summer (and with perfect weather!) was not required. Instead the orchard was designed in Unreal Engine - all with perfectly ripe apples, the sun in a constant location throughout the shoot and no road noise or hayfever to deal with!
The commercial was able to be shot at any time of the year and run into the evening if required, the set would always remain perfectly lit and tracked to the movement of both the camera and the turntable on which we had our picnic table. The difficulties of shooting through a glass in a chromakey set-up (an alternative method to save location costs) were also avoided, as everything is in camera, where the client can make creative decisions on set and end the shoot happy they have it all in the can. And there was no post production time required other than the normal colour grading processes.
