For the latest episode of our YouTube series Supernatural UK, we headed somewhere steeped in centuries of mystery: the legendary Mermaid Inn in Rye.
With cellars dating back to 1156 and the current building rebuilt in 1420, the inn is one of England’s most atmospheric historic buildings. Sloping ceilings, creaking floorboards and a maze of staircases make it feel as though the past is never far away. Its long and colourful history has been carefully preserved, creating a setting that’s as haunting as it is beautiful.
Joining the investigation is researcher Diane Chambers, alongside TV presenter Anneka Svenska and her two remarkable blue wolves. Together, the team sets out to uncover the truth behind one of the inn’s most intriguing legends: the Ghost Dog said to haunt Dr Syn’s bed chamber.
To make the night even more special, our overnight stay coincides with the Harvest Supermoon 🌕 — a lunar event long associated with heightened energy and strange phenomena.
